And The Streak Continues!

What's going on everyone!?

Today for the #2019gameaday challenge I played a solo game of Colt Express and didn't do so well.

As each round went on I would feel like I got this.

Then I would worry that I hadnt.

And by the time the game was over I placed 3rd unfortunately.  But the game was still fun!

As always, thank you for reading and don't forget to stop and smell the meeples! :)

WWE 2K19 | Review, Gameplay, & more...

When I was a kid I loved to play wrestling games, I still play but not that often. And frankly speaking, I only liked WWE games as they have so many different types of matches that you get to choose. WWE 2K19, as past passages in the long-running 2K wrestling series, is a decent game. The center wrestling completes an awesome activity of reproducing a WWE coordinate, and the strike/catch/inversion battling framework is a considerable measure of fun. It has truly outstanding and most far reaching creation suites of any game out there, and the manner in which that it essentially gives you a chance to do everything that wrestlers do, all things considered, in WWE 2K19, is somewhat dumbfounding. But it has many downsides too, the one which I hated the most is the funny glitches. Glitches have been a very close part of the WWE games, whether it may be 2K16, 2K17, 2K18, you get to see them in almost every WWE game. But this time in WWE 2K19, you will not get that much glitches to see but still, they are not entirely gone.

Quick Facts:

  • Initial release date: 9 October 2018
  • Publisher: 2K Sports
  • Genre: Sports game (Wrestling)
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
  • Modes: Single-player video game, Multiplayer video game

My Career Mode: A must play

Man! I adored the My career mode, I mean the MyCareer, has dependably been a WWE 2K staple since 2K15. Be that as it may, in 2K19, it at long last feels like a legitimate AAA wrestling story mode finish with voice acting, cutscenes, and agreeable characters that develop and change all through the story. The battle is enlivened on account of an extraordinary execution from previous Tough Enough contender and current non mainstream wrestler, AJ Kirsch, who brings a genuinely necessary level of genuineness to the lead job.

What's more, the astounding thing is that, generally, the real wrestlers have dubbed their voice to WWE 2K19 which appears to me a truly extraordinary activity, however we should comprehend that not every person can act or name as few appear as though they're perusing from a content instead of acting.

Let's Talk about My Career:

Along these lines, Unlike earlier years that you generally begin your character in NXT, however in WWE 2K19's MyCareer mode you will be first wrestling in an association called BCW, where you're wrestling out of secondary school rec centers – a reality that the offensive pundit won't quit helping you to remember. From that point, you'll get seen by WWE head coach Matt Bloom and start your twisty and blustery way to the WWE primary program, Cool! Right.

Your character begins off to a great degree powerless, with a weak arrangement of moves, wretched details, and conventional passage alternatives. As you level up by picking up understanding, you can build your details through three ability trees, which are additionally separated by various ways inside every one. The expertise trees figure out how to diminish the detail over-burden that commonly goes with WWE 2K's vocation mode, however you never get the inclination that the abilities you're adding to make a big deal about a distinction in your character's general quality.

For the most part, MyCareer is easy enough to get away with playing with a sub-par character, but there are a few points in the story where your boss, Triple H decides to stack the deck against you, forcing you to compete and win in wildly unfair matches, such as a 3-on-1 handicap match, an 8 man battle royale, and a gauntlet where you health doesn't refill after each match. Rather than coming out of it feeling like a highly skilled beast of a wrestler, you feel like you have to resort to cheap hit and run tactics just to survive, or in other words, this time it's not very easy to win each and every match.

YES!  YES!  YES!

This time there's a much-loved grandstand mode which features the WWE journey of Daniel Bryan. Each section covers an alternate critical match in his career, with a presentation by Bryan himself that sets the phase in an entrancing little narrative style. When it's an ideal opportunity to really play, you're guided by destinations that make them do a significant number of similar moves and huge spots that really occurred in the genuine match, with a few goals activating meticulously reproduced cutscenes of some the greatest snapshots of his profession.

Royal Rumble & MITB:

Royal Rumbles are much more fun now as you can pick and pick the request in which hotshots enter. Steel Cages matches have experienced a relatively entire update with new exit minigames and a few new activities that add to the energy of the match compose. You can likewise now make your very own Money in the Bank briefcase and have wrestlers protect them in matches.

The Big Head Mode:

There's nothing exceptional in this mode, it's only wrestlers with giant head wrestling. Here WWE 2K19 just appears to grasp a considerably more fun and arcade-y tone and is greatly improved for it. Enormous head mode matches are extremely humorous to watch.

Here's a Big Head Mode Gameplay, on the off chance that you wish to watch.

The Verdict:

I think this time WWE has extremely enhanced various issues that were available in past WWE 2K arrangement yet at the same time needs to chip away at some longstanding issues. Be that as it may, with the much enhanced MyCareer mode and the sheer measure of substance accessible on account of the arrival of Showcase Mode, It doubtlessly is a sort of game you should play at any cost for once.

Overkill's The Walking Dead - Review

overkill's the walking dead, overkill's the walking dead review, overkill's the walking dead ps4, overkill's the walking dead

Overkill's The Walking Dead - Review

Overkill's The Walking Dead is a sincere endeavor to convey a helpful adventure set in the notable Walking Dead universe, yet that effort feels somewhat like it's very little past the point of no return, as Overkill's The Walking Dead frequently doesn't feel like a shooter by any stretch of the imagination. It takes the rules built up by Robert Kirkman's comic series and its consequent TV adaption to heart in the wrong ways, forcing uneven decides on its missions that intensely restrict how you're able to play. Combined with a confounding combination of survival mechanics covered in unintuitive menus, useless customization choices, and non-existent incentives to enhance your gear, The Walking Dead feels foul and unfocused.

Quick Facts:

  • Initial release date: 6 November 2018
  • Engine: Unreal Engine
  • Developer: Overkill Software
  • Genre: First-person shooter
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows

Overkill's The Walking Dead is a game about apparently thoughtless butcher with not very many plot strings drawing an obvious conclusion. There is no drama, there are no characters created crosswise over missions, and there is no nuance to for what reason you're killing people as promptly as you do the walkers. It has next to no to do with what makes The Walking Dead so incredible.

Overkill's the walking dead: Gameplay

The biggest enemy in The Walking Dead—besides, you know, the walking dead—is noise. Nothing floods the roads with zombies quicker than a noisy blast or a jukebox firing up a Queen track. most of the missions in The Walking Dead is a stealth mission. Basically, this makes the game fundamentally the same as Overkill's past co-op shooters, Payday and Payday 2. In those games, heists start out calmly until the point that an alarm gets activated and the best way to get out alive is to go loud.

Missions are diluted into more stealthy issues therefore, which can be somewhat engaging when you're working closely with teammates. As a major aspect of an efficient group you can keep noise to a minimum and dodge enemies completely, yet it generally just takes one player not sticking to the script to ruin a run. making the situation worse, there's no help for voice chat in-game nor some other approaches to communicate besides text talk, which is a huge bummer.

Check out this amazing gameplay from Polygon

Killing a couple of scattered zombies with baseball bats and blades is simple enough, however, in the end, somebody will make a noise calling for backup. Regardless of whether it's a gunshot, a blast, or a car alarm. If your group is messy, in the end the group will get too thick to battle at all, and the only wise thing left to do is run.

Even though fighting zombies is pretty simple, but you don't wanna get too close to them as they will grab you and will drain your health to a good amount as it takes some time to shove them off.

It's too awful that slaughtering zombies with melee weapons is so essential, though, because these weapons aren't much fun to use. There are machetes, baseball bats, and pickaxes, but they all feel clunky, and pretty much the same. And also fighting off thick crowds of zombies, again and again, becomes boring, but what satisfies me the most is the wooden tunk sound I get from smacking a zombie right in the skull.

Overkill's The Walking Dead: Characters

In Overkill's The Walking Dead, you take control of one of four new characters, each with their own uninvolved weapon specializations and one of a kind aptitudes. For instance, Maya is the medic and her unique ability is tossing down a med bag that can heal up anybody in your group. Aiden, on the other hand, gets streak blasts that can daze human enemies and distract zombie crowds.

Each character is fun in their own particular manner and, in spite of their strengths, anybody can utilize any weapon you discover, giving them a helpful adaptability. The distinction, however, is that they won't have the capacity to apply any of their skill upgrades or passive rewards to upgrade a weapon outside their wheelhouse.

But beyond that, the difference between the characters are for the most part detail driven other than a solitary unique skill.

From its restrictive mission structures, unbalanced difficulty and baffling methods of progression, The Walking Dead struggles to justify the time it requires from you. It's a collection gameplay diagrams stacked upon each other without insightful thought on how they may durably cooperate, wrapped with a dull presentation and ordinary combat that once in a while energizes. The Walking Dead is a wreck of scattered thoughts and an absence of direction, and there's no reason to make sense of it all.

The Verdict:

It's fun when you cooperate with friends and escape the horde of zombies by sneaky ways. But, it's all wrapped with a package of various disappointments: Technical issues, unavoidable repetition, and dull shooting experience.

Movie Reviews: A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Christopher Robin, Eighth Grade, First Man

See all of my movie reviews.

A Star is Born (2018) - Bradley Cooper directs, writes, and stars in this third (at least) remake of the 1937 story. He is joined by the captivating and talented Lady Gaga. I assume you know the story, so here be general spoilers.

The original story is about a talented man whose best days are behind him. He is on the way out, but he finds and starts the career of the young woman. They fall in love. He is depressed, not only because he is no longer wanted, and is an alcoholic, but because he can't take the idea of a youngster and a woman besting him. Meanwhile, out of love - or maybe out of what is expected of a woman - she is on the verge of giving up her career because she thinks she can save him if they live a normal life. He overhears this and decides to end his life, either because he has finally reached bottom or so as not to allow her to give up her dreams for him.

This remake downplays the parts that make it seem like it is natural for her to give up her stardom for his sake. He has a drug and alcohol problem. She doesn't consider giving up her career, although she makes an attempt to get him booked on her tour, threatening to not do her tour if he is not allowed to join her. Her manager is a creep who flat out tells him that he is in her way, which leads him to end his life; this is far more sinister than having him overhear a conversation he should not have heard.

This is a pretty good movie, with good original music. Everyone gives a solid performance, and most of the camera work and directing is excellent (I had one or two minor quibbles, nothing major). The leads have good chemistry, and Lady Gaga's singing can blow you away; I suppose some will complain that no one can sing like Barbra Streisand in the second remake from 1976, but that movie wasn't as good as this one.

It is emotionally draining, however, if you have a hard time watching someone resort to suicide (not graphic, but the scene is long) or a woman having to deal with a lover who is an alcoholic and drug addict. Just so you know.

Bohemian Rhapsody - A biopic of Freddie Mercury of Queen, and also the story of Queen, from its founding until Live Aid. The main plot elements are Freddie vs his girlfriend Mary (as he comes to realize he is gay), Freddie vs his manager, Freddy vs some boyfriends and the swinging 80's lifestyle, Freddy vs his family and his traditional background, Freddy vs his contracting AIDS (only superficially covered), and Freddy vs his band-mates.

If you love Queens's music, of course you will love the movie. If you hate Queen's music ... what's wrong with you? Some of their songs, like We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions, seem like they were chiseled out of music itself. On its own merits, Rami Malek does a great job as Freddy, and Lucy Boynton as Mary and Gwilym Lee as Brian May also shine, as does the rest of the cast. The plot is captivating, since Freddy seems equal parts genius arranger and singer, but also self-destructive and helpless. Mary, if you believe the movie, is the one who drags him back into sanity, even while she is kept apart from him due to his sexuality.

As an ending to the movie, Live Aid, while a lovely concert, doesn't really answer all of the questions. If you know the real story, you know that a lot of the early days are skipped over or compressed (they went through a bunch of bass guitarists and their first album was not a great success), Live Aid was a phenomenal triumph, and the story continues to the early 90's. So threads are left dangling.

But it doesn't matter. Good performances and great music, an interesting portrait of a tormented genius. Not the best movie ever made, but worth watching.

Christopher Robin - Ewan McGregor plays a grown up Christopher Robin, famous son of A. A. Milne, who works as an efficiency expert in London and who is tasked with firing a bunch of people unless he can figure out a way to save their jobs. He runs into Pooh Bear who needs Christopher Robin to help him find more honey in the 100 acre woods. CR tries to make sense of this, and they go on several adventures. Everyone learns something by the end of the movie.

The closest analogy here would be Hook (Robin Williams). It's an okay movie, though rather childish and cliche. Kids will probably enjoy it. I got a bit bored.

It's a little odd to see this movie after last' year's Goodbye Christopher Robin, which painted a rather grimmer picture of CR's relationship to his father's stories.

Eighth Grade - A good but intense look at a high school girl (Elsie Fisher) who spends all of her time, and tries to find all of her validation, on social media. Her real life, unfortunately, doesn't conform to her expectations from her virtual one. Not only does she have low self-esteem and low popularity and fall for the wrong boy, she also runs head on into a few moments of real danger and harassment that up the significance of what happens in real life.

Josh Hamilton plays her single father, desperately trying to help and support her while she fights to keep him out. It's not an easy movie to watch, but it's a fairly good one.

First Man - A biopic of Neil Armstrong, and also the story of the mission to land a man on the moon. Unlike Bohemian Rhapsody, in which the focus on one character made the story interesting, I wan't as happy here. Neil has a few problems with his wife and kids, but not really; I'm pretty sure most of the problems were invented by the screenwriters. The conflict with his wife was not believably portrayed. Meanwhile, all the parts about the moon landing were fascinating, but they were not the main focus of the movie.

The movie makes several other mistakes. Instead of a grand story of triumphs and tragedies (i/e, what really happened), the story concentrates solely on a series of tragedies (real ones). I guess that's the screenwriter's way of ratcheting up the tension, but it a) makes the story very narrow and small, making it more like a Marvel movie than a real story, and b) it makes it unrealistic: why would anyone continue with a program that fails so tragically and continuously over and over, killing people each time? Of course, that wasn't the real or entire story. But we don't get to hear the real or entire story.

The worst parts for me were a) the long sequences of shaking cameras that simulated the shaking rockets and flights. One such sequence of reasonable length in a movie is great. This movie does this at least three times, for 20 minutes each time. At some point it moves from being a good simulation to being distracting and unwatchable. Enough already. 2) About sixty percent of the movie is a closeup of someone's face. This is the same mistake used in Jackie. Again: a few face closeups are great but 60% of the screen-time spent on face closeups is not, It's just pretentious, distancing, and annoying. Which is a crying shame, because the cinematography of the other 40% is beautiful.

Aside from all that was bad about the movie, the movie did everything else  well: well acted, well scored, well paced, and an important piece of history. For what its worth, my fellow movie-goers (friends) liked the movie.

Kingdom Of Jerusalem Mounted Sergeants

The recruitment for the Kingdom of Jerusalem continues a pace with a new unit, this time it's Mounted Sergeants.

12 x 28mm figures from Fireforge Games, I've decided to arm these with hand weapons rather than lance which means there are less flags than normal. The large pennant had been painted using a decal from the Battle Flag Decal set as the base.

I do like the sense of motion you can get with these Fireforge figures, the plastic kits allow you to make subtle variations in the figures, the horse poses give the impression of motion and the deeper bases I like to use allow a staggering of the figures again giving that feeling of movement.

Looking at the photos I think the shields need another coat of Matt Varnish.

I have a unit of mounted Knights left to do before the force is finished but for the moment I am concentrating on finishing off my 7tv Baddies.

Thanks for watching, see you all again soon.

Linux Command Line Hackery Series - Part 6

Welcome back to Linux Command Line Hackery series, I hope you've enjoyed this series so far and would have learned something (at least a bit). Today we're going to get into user management, that is we are going to learn commands that will help us add and remove users and groups. So bring it on...

Before we get into adding new users to our system lets first talk about a command that will be useful if you are a non-root user.

Command: sudo
Syntax: sudo [options] command
Description: sudo allows a permitted user to execute a command as a superuser or another user.

Since the commands to follow need root privileges, if you are not root then don't forget to prefix these commands with sudo command. And yes you'll need to enter the root password in order to execute any command with sudo as root.

Command: useradd
Syntax: useradd [options] username
Description: this command is used for creating new user but is kinda old school.
Lets try to add a new user to our box.
[Note: I'm performing these commands as root user, you'll need root privileges to add a new user to your box. If you aren't root then you can try these commands by prefixing the sudo command at the very beginning of these command like this sudo useradd joe. You'll be prompted for your root password, enter it and you're good to go]

useradd joe

To verify that this command has really added a user to our box we can look at three files that store a users data on a Linux box, which are:

/etc/passwd -> this file stores information about a user separated by colons in this manner, first is login name, then in past there used to be an encrypted password hash at the second place however since the password hashes were moved to shadow file now it has a cross (x) there, then there is user id, after it is the user's group id, following it is a comment field, then the next field contains users home directory, and at last is the login shell of the user.

/etc/group  -> this file stores information about groups, that is id of the group and to which group an user belongs.

/etc/shadow -> this file stores the encrypted password of users.

Using our command line techniques we learned so far lets check out these files and verify if our user has been created:

cat /etc/passwd /etc/group /etc/shadow | grep joe

In the above screenshot you can notice an ! in the /etc/shadow, this means the password of this user has not been set yet. That means we have to set the password of user joe manually, lets do just that.

Command: passwd
Syntax: passwd [options] [username]
Description: this command is used to change the password of user accounts.
Note that this command needs root privileges. So if you are not root then prefix this command with sudo.

passwd joe

After typing this command, you'll be prompted password and then for verifying your password. The password won't show up on the terminal.
Now joe's account is up and running with a password.

The useradd command is a old school command, lets create a new user with a different command which is kinda interactive.

Command: adduser
Syntax: adduser [options] user
Description: adduser command adds a user to the system. It is more friendly front-end to the useradd command.

So lets create a new user with adduser.

adduser jane

as seen in the image it prompts for password, full name and many other things and thus is easy to use.

OK now we know how to create a user its time to create a group which is very easy.

Command: addgroup
Syntax: addgroup [options] groupname
Description: This command is used to create a new group or add an existing user to an existing group.

We create a new group like this

addgroup grownups

So now we have a group called grownups, you can verify it by looking at /etc/group file.
Since joe is not a grownup user yet but jane is we'll add jane to grownups group like this:

addgroup jane grownups

Now jane is the member of grownups.

Its time to learn how to remove a user from our system and how to remove a group from the system, lets get straight to that.

Command: deluser
Syntax: deluser [options] username
Description: remove a user from system.

Lets remove joe from our system

deluser joe

Yes its as easy as that. But remember by default deluser will remove the user without removing the home directory or any other files owned by the user. Removing the home directory can be achieved by using the --remove-home option.

deluser jane --remove-home

Also the --remove-all-files option removes all the files from the system owned by the user (better watch-out). And to create a backup of all the files before deleting use the --backup option.

We don't need grownups group so lets remove it.

Command: delgroup
Syntax: delgroup [options] groupname
Description: remove a group from the system.

To remove grownups group just type:

delgroup grownups

That's it for today hope you got something in your head.

DSploit

DSploit

After playing with the applications installed on the Pwn Pad, I found that the most important application (at least for me) was missing from the pre-installed apps. Namely, DSploit. Although DSploit has tons of features, I really liked the multiprotocol password sniffing (same as dsniff) and the session hijacking functionality.

The DSploit APK in the Play Store was not working for me, but the latest nightly on http://dsploit.net worked like a charm.

Most features require that you and your target uses the same WiFi network, and that's it. It can be Open, WEP, WPA/WPA2 Personal. On all of these networks, DSploit will sniff the passwords - because of the active attacks. E.g. a lot of email clients still use IMAP with clear text passwords, or some webmails, etc.

First, DSploit lists the AP and the known devices on the network. In this case, I chose one victim client.

In the following submenu, there are tons of options, but the best features are in the MITM section.

Stealthiness warning: in some cases, I received the following popup on the victim Windows:

This is what we have under the MITM submenu:

Password sniffing

For example, let's start with the Password Sniffer. It is the same as EvilAP and DSniff in my previous post. With the same results for the popular Hungarian webmail with the default secure login checkbox turned off. Don't forget, this is not an Open WiFi network, but one with WPA2 protection!

Session hijack

Now let's assume that the victim is very security-aware and he checks the secure login checkbox. Another cause can be that the victim already logged in, long before we started to attack. The session hijacking function is similar to the Firesheep tool, but it works with every website where the session cookies are sent in clear text, and there is no need for any additional support.

In a session hijacking attack (also called "sidejacking"), after the victim browser sends the authentication cookies in clear text, DSploit copies these cookies into its own browser, and opens the website with the same cookies, which results in successful login most of the time. Let's see session hijacking in action!

Here, we can see that the session cookies have been sniffed from the air:

Let's select that session, and be amazed that we logged into the user's webmail session.

Redirect traffic

This feature can be used both for fun or profit. For fun, you can redirect all the victim traffic to http://www.kittenwar.com/. For-profit, you can redirect your victim to phishing pages.

Replace images, videos

I think this is just for fun here. Endless Rick Rolling possibilities.

Script injection

This is mostly for profit. client-side injection, drive-by-exploits, endless possibilities.

Custom filter

If you are familiar with ettercap, this has similar functionalities (but dumber), with string or regex replacements. E.g. you can replace the news, stock prices, which pizza the victim ordered, etc. If you know more fun stuff here, please leave a comment (only HTTP scenario - e.g. attacking Facebook won't work).

Additional fun (not in DSploit) - SSLStrip

From the MITM section of DSploit, I really miss the SSLStrip functionality. Luckily, it is built into the Pwn Pad. With the help of SSLStrip, we can remove the references to HTTPS links in the clear text HTTP traffic, and replace those with HTTP. So even if the user checks the secure login checkbox at freemail.hu, the password will be sent in clear text - thus it can be sniffed with DSniff.

HTML source on the client-side with SSL strip:

With EvilAP, SSLStrip, and DSniff, the password can be stolen. No hacking skillz needed.

Lessons learned here

If you are a website operator where you allow your users to login, always:
  1. Use HTTPS with a trusted certificate, and redirect all unencrypted traffic to HTTPS ASAP
  2. Mark the session cookies with the secure flag
  3. Use HSTS to prevent SSLStrip attacks
If you are a user:
  1. Don't trust sites with your confidential data if the above points are not fixed. Choose a more secure alternative
  2. Use HTTPS everywhere plugin
  3. For improved security, use VPN
Because hacking has never been so easy before.
And last but not least, if you like the DSploit project, don't forget to donate them!
